Addison Davies, late of the Town of Lynchburg, &#13;
in the State of Virginia, did on the 8th day of &#13;
May in the year one thousand eight hundred and &#13;
Seventeen, make and publish his last will and &#13;
testament, which is duly recorded in the Hustings Court &#13;
for the Corporation of Lynchburg; By which said last &#13;
will and Testament he the said Addison Davis directs &#13;
that certain Slaves belonging to him, shall when they &#13;
severally arrive at the age of thenty [twenty] eight years, be &#13;
emancipated and set at liberty, and whereas the &#13;
following Slaves are now by said Will entitled to &#13;
freedom viz, Stephen a man, about forty years old &#13;
rather dark complection [complexion], about five feet ten or eleven &#13;
inches high; Judy about thirty two or three years of age, &#13;
light complection, ordinary [sin?]. Ned a man about &#13;
Sixty years old five feet six or eight inches high, dark &#13;
complexion. Mat a man about Sixty years old, dark &#13;
complexion, five feet six to ten inches high; now therefore &#13;
I Nathe. J Manson Exr of the said Addison Davies &#13;
decd [deceased], in conformity to his said last will and testament, &#13;
do hereby declare the above mentioned slaves free &#13;
and emancipated. In testimony whereof I have &#13;
