              <text>I Hartwell Tucker of the County of Brunswick &amp; state of Virginia do make and constitute this my last will &amp; testament in manner &amp; form as follows viz:&#13;
I give and bequeath to Martha Pegram &amp; Kissia Boisseau, daughters of my sister Martha Goodwyn dec’d the following slaves viz. Little Jun., Caty, Amy, [?Oracy?] &amp; child to be equally divided between them to have &amp; to hold the said slaves with the future increase of the females to the said Martha Pegram &amp; Kissia Boisseau, to them &amp; their heirs forever.&#13;
I give and bequeath to Dr. Wood Tucker the following slaves viz. Herry, Willa his wife &amp; her two children Stephen &amp; [?Angy?], with the future increase of the females and the one mority of all my right &amp; interest in &amp; to the negro slaves, now in the possession of Mary Ann Tucker, which on her death may revert to me, with the future increase of the female slaves.&#13;
I leave to George W Tucker the one half of the other mority of all my right &amp; interest as to the negro slaves now in the possession of Mary Ann Tucker &amp; which on her death may revert to me with the future increase of the female slaves, for the purpose of enabling the said George W Tucker to support &amp; educate the children which he now has or may hereafter have, until the youngest shall attain the age of twenty one years, then to be equally divided among the said children. I also give and bequeath unto George W Tucker to his own use, to him and his heirs foreve,r the sum of three hundred dollars.&#13;
I loan to Joseph G Tucker the other one half of the other mority of all my right &amp; interest in &amp; to the negro slaves, now in the possession of Mary Ann Tucker, which on her death may revert to me, with the future increase of the females, for the purpose of enabling him to support &amp; educate the children, which he now has or may hereafter have until the youngest shall have attained the age of twenty one years, then to be equally divided among the children of the said Joseph G Tucker, I also give &amp; bequeath unto Joseph G Tucker to his own use, to him &amp; his heirs forever the sum of three hundred dollars.&#13;
I hereby order &amp; direct that William, son of Willa, be sent four years to school, afterward bound as an apprentice to some trade for the term of four years &amp; when he shall have attained the age of twenty one years be manumitted &amp; paid by my executor the sum of one thousand dollars in hand. I hereby also order &amp; direct that Washington, son of Willa, be manumitted, bound two years as an apprentice to some trade (the particular trade being left entirely to his selection) &amp; then paid by my executor one thousand dollars in hand.&#13;
I do hereby manumit Adam, [?China?] and her child, with her future increase, &amp; order &amp; direct that my executor by one hundred dollars in hand to Adam, should my executor be unable to obtain permission for above manumitted slaves to remain in the state, after making application to the legislature for that purpose, which he is hereby requested to do, he is then directed to havae them removed to some other state in place to which free persons of color are permitted to immigrate, at the cost and charge of my estate.&#13;
I give and bequeath unto Col. John Tucker, to him &amp; his heirs forever, all the rest &amp; residue of my estate (not heretofore disposed of) both real personal &amp; mixed, in possession, remainder, or reversion, embracing &amp; including all &amp; every thing in &amp; to which I have a right, title, claim or interest and which I have the right &amp; power to bequeath or divise.&#13;
Lastly, I hereby constitute and appoint Col. John Tucker executor of this my last will &amp; testament; I order and direct that no security be required of him &amp; that there be no inventory or appraisement of my estate. In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand &amp; affixed my seal this the 12th day of April in the year one thousand eight hundred &amp; thirty four. &#13;

Claiborne sen’r of the County of Brunswick and State of Virginia of the one part and his slave Fredrick Rivers of the other part, witnesseth that whereas Watkins Samford under the will of his brother William Samford dec’d has emancipated Lucy Ann the wife of the said Fredrick Rivers &amp; her children, and they are shortly to be sent out of the state and the said D.J. Claiborne being unwilling to separate his aforesaid man Fredrick Rivers from his family and in consideration of his good conduct and faithful deportment as a servant, doth hereby emancipate the said Fredrick Rivers and set him free denouncing all claim to him whatever. Witness the following signature and seal.&#13;
